Didn't get a chance to attend the half-day seminar at Midwest Conference?
Or did you attend the seminar and want to learn more?
Join your colleagues for the Land Trust Alliance's one-day workshop:
Managing in Hard Times
The Economic Downturn and Your Nonprofit
Led by Institute for
Conservation Leadership
Tuesday, March 24, 2009
Indian Springs Metropark
White Lake, Michigan
Register Now!<http://www.lta.org/managinginhardtimes>
Registration Ends Tomorrow
Wednesday, March 18
No doubt your organization is thinking about the implications of today's economy on your land trust's future. Learn how to remove the "panic glasses," assess your position, and move forward with practical management tools when you attend this one-day workshop.
This training will teach you skills for how to gather information, take stock, and figure out what the economic downturn really means for your land trust. You may discover that you are doing pretty well, that you need to fine-tune operations, or that you need to take decisive action. By learning what strategic changes you can make now to weather the difficult economic climate, you can even help your organization flourish in the long term.
Brad Webb, Senior Program Associate at Institute for Conservation Leadership<http://www.icl.org/> (ICL), will lead you through the ins and outs of leading your land trust during the challenging times ahead by discussing how to:
* Review key factors affecting the performance and health of your organization
* Identify options so you can act from a place of strength rather than reaction
* Develop contingency plans that take into account fundraising, programming, and financial management
* Learn from how other nonprofits survived and thrived during difficult economic times
* Identify whom to involve and how to proceed to avoid carrying everything alone
* Learn how to best manage and sustain yourself
There are no prerequisites for this course, and it is intended for all levels.
The Results Are In:
The half-day version of this workshop at the 2009 Midwest Conference was a resounding success and left people asking for more:
"I wish I could attend the full-day version!"
"Great strategy ideas come from this course."
"This one seminar alone was worth the entire conference."
"This is the best fundraising course I've attended!"
Cost:
$120 per person. Because we are encouraging land conservancies to send more than one person to this training to enhance the effectiveness of this program, your organization may apply for special rates:
* Your second attendee is $70
* Your third attendee is free
Each participant will receive a copy of ICL's Managing in Hard Times workbook to take home and use as a reference and a model for implementing important aspects of the topics that will be covered in this course.
