8th ANNUAL OHIO FARMLAND PRESERVATION SUMMIT SET FOR NOVEMBER 1st

On November 1st, 2007, the Ohio Department of Agriculture will host the
eighth annual Ohio Farmland Preservation Summit in Reynoldsburg.

The theme of this year's summit is Growing Our Economy through
Agriculture, and plenary topics will focus on growing your local economy
through food and agriculture, and planning for agriculture.  First Lady
Frances Strickland will be the lunch time keynote.  This year conference
planners are building in more time for networking and interacting with
other participants and speakers.  Lunch and snacks for the conference
will be provided by Northstar Café which purchases more than 25% locally
grown ingredients and more than 50% organic ingredients.   

Interested farmers, landowners, local officials, land trusts, citizens,
and agency personnel are encouraged to participate in networking and
strategy discussions about how to preserve Ohio farmland.
