We've been pleased with Closser's work, too, so I'd endorse that one!
Don't have much experience with Steigerwaldt.

John - Your best bet for appraisal review in MI esp. Keweenaw lands is
either Closser (MQT) or Steigerwaldt (Tomahawk, WI). I've had them both
do appraisal reviews on several occasions over the past 5 years. I only
use these two for MI appraisals since DNR has accepted their work in the
past. If there are other appraisers that will do appraisal work in the
UP acceptable to the State I haven't been able to locate them.

Hello All,

We are having trouble getting a CE appraisal done here in Keweenaw
County per the standards and practices described in the SJ Small
"Preserving Family Lands" book (and to federal Yellow Book standards).
Mr. Small suggests having an experienced "review appraiser" work with a
local appraiser (who does all the legwork).

Q: Does anyone know of an experienced appraiser in MI who would be
willing to serve as the "review appraiser" (or even come to the Keweenaw
if possible)?

Thanks,

John Griffith
