Landowners, natural resource professionals, land-use planners,
community volunteers, and wildlife enthusiasts are invited to
participate in two upcoming workshops on woodland pools, sponsored by
Cornell University and the NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program.
Participants will:

● Discover what woodland pools are and why they are a critical
habitat;
● Learn to recognize woodland pools and the animals that depend on
them, such as fairy shrimp, mole salamanders, wood frogs, spotted
turtles, and others;
● Learn how to protect and enhance pools on your land or in your
community;
●  Learn global positioning systems (GPS) basics;
● Become a certified Woodland Pool Steward.

Both workshops will be held at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange
County, 18 Seward Ave., Middletown, NY.
